Nora Liu Robinson’s book, Not OK, is a memoir-in-essays about identity development while growing up a biracial first-generation Chinese American in northern Michigan. With self-deprecating humor and sobering vulnerability, Robinson tracks the shifts in her racial and gender identity from childhood to early motherhood. Robinson explores topics like immigration and refugee issues, generational trauma, and power dynamics in biracial families. She shares an Asian American perspective, all the while connecting to the curiosity, confusion, and doubt that accompany the universal experience of growing up.

Nora Liu Robinson is a writer and teacher with a background in English literature, Asian Studies, and linguistics.
